Terms of use
Last updated: 11 June 2026
SmugLeague is operated by Applied Solutions Ltd (UK). By using smugleague.com you agree to these terms. They're short and written to be read.
1. Free to play, no gambling
Playing SmugLeague is free. No player ever pays to enter, and there are no cash or material prizes — the winnings are bragging rights. SmugLeague is not a betting or gambling service and must not be used to run one: organising stakes, buy-ins or sweepstakes through a league is against these terms.
2. League Pro
League organisers may optionally purchase a League Pro upgrade (a one-off payment processed by Stripe) which unlocks features for their league, such as a larger member cap. It is a digital service delivered immediately. If something is broken, or you bought it by mistake and haven't used the features, email us within 14 days and we'll refund it — we're not in the business of keeping money for things that didn't work.
3. Play fair
One account per person. No bots, scripts or automated prediction submission; no exploiting bugs (report them instead — you'll get credit); no offensive display names or league names. Predictions lock 5 minutes before kickoff and scoring is automatic — the scores at the final whistle (including extra time) are final. We may remove content, reset points or close accounts that break these rules.
4. Competitions and availability
Leagues run for a defined competition with a start and end date. We aim to keep the service available and fixtures accurate, but SmugLeague is provided "as is" — we're not liable for missed predictions due to downtime, fixture changes, postponements, or anything a referee does. If a match is abandoned or void, we follow the official competition result for scoring.
5. Your content and data
Display names and league names you create must not infringe anyone's rights. How we handle your data is covered by the privacy policy.
6. The legal bits
We may update these terms; material changes will be dated here. If a term is found unenforceable, the rest still apply. These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Scottish courts. Liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the last 12 months (for most players: nothing) — and nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
